President Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto continued their tour of Northeastern by visiting Wajir county yesterday.

They commissioned the Kenya Medical Training College in Wajir town, Huduma Centre in Wajir East and the upgrading of Wajir Hospital to Level 5 status. The President also launched two key education programmes – the Digital Literacy Programme, popularly known as the laptop project, and Water for Schools Project at El Adow Primary in Wajir town.

Today, the two leaders will be in Garissa county to launch the construction of the Nuno-Modogashe road in Garissa town before commissioning the building of the Modika-Nuno road. They are also set to commission the construction of the Sankuri-Garissa Ndogo-Ngamia road and inspect the Masalani water project.
