Parliament has been recalled for a special sitting next Thursday to debate amendments to the Anti-Doping Bill 2016. This follows a meeting between the Kenyan government and the World Anti-Doping Agency in Canada earlier in the week.

President Uhuru Kenyatta sent Foreign Affairs Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohamed and her Sports counterpart Hassan Wario to Wada after Kenya was declared non-compliant. National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi made the announcement to recall Parliament, which is on recess until June 6, for two sittings.

The MPs will go through the changes agreed in the Canada meeting. Muturi said the legislators will consider the amendments and anything else related to the country’s anti-doping policy.
