The National Council of NGOs has urged the government to swiftly end the insecurity and tension in Kerio Valley.
In a press release, chairman Stephen Cheboi (pictured) said the Pokot and Marakwet communities in Tot and Kolowa divisions of Baringo county yesterday engaged in serious clashes that resulted in loss of lives and theft of cattle.
“We are urging Inspector General of Police and other government agencies to ensure that communities live in peace among themselves,” he said. “Women and children are suffering due to displacements.” Cheboi said classes have been disrupted and business crippled.
