The High Court in Kisumu has dismissed the application by suspended Lake Victoria South Water Services Board CEO Moses Agumba to block his prosecution over corruption.

Judge Hillary Chemitei ordered Agumba to face corruption charges. Agumba moved to the High Court to block a private prosecution against him over financial impropriety involving Sh49.7 million. He also wanted to stop investigations by the police and the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission. Agumba said the magistrate’s court acted against the law of natural justice by ordering his arrest for a non-disclosed offence, and without considering the weight of allegations against him.
