Airtel Trace Music Star competition unveils top five Kenyan finalists

The top five finalists in the second edition of Airtel Trace Music Star national competition have been unveiled.

They are Ivlyn Mutua, Tonya Ahenda, Daniel Osanya, Elvis Kosiso and Ciano Maimba.

The five will battle it out in the Kenyan finals slated for May 8 at the Enashipai Resort & Spa in Naivasha.

The winner of the competition will pocket a cash prize of Sh1.5 million and a mentorship deal with American singer Keri Hilson in Atlanta.

The finalists were selected by a team of judges consisting musician Atemi Oyungu, reggae/dancehall singer Wyre and producer Chris Adwar.

The winnwe will represent Kenya in the grand finale to be held in Nigeria in June this year.

“We congratulate the five for making it to the finals," says

Airtel Kenya CEO Adil El Youssefi.

He adds: "This has been a keenly competitive contest and it's a huge achievement for them to have made it this far.

"As we proceed to the next stage of the competition, we are giving Kenyans the opportunity to vote for the ultimate winner who will represent Kenya in the pan-African finale next month."
