Docubox, a Documentary Film Fund that supports intimate and character-driven storytelling, is set to screen the highly-acclaimed Kenyan film, The Last Fight.

The screening will be held at the Pawa254's Mageuzi Theatre in Nairobi on Wednesday next week starting 6.30pm.

The film, inspired by true events, tells the story of two of Kenya's most renowned boxing clubs who are fighting for their very survival.

It stars Ndirangu “Coaches” Mahungu, the head of the Dallas Boxing Club, who must pay the price of continuing the club’s boxing heritage.

He sleeps with his eyes open, as Muthurwa Community Hall, home of the boxing club faces the threat of disappearing.

Dallas Boxing Club and Madison Square Garden in Nakuru (the oldest boxing club in Kenya), are accounted for a good number of famous names that comprised the Hit Squad, Kenya’s once great national boxing team.

Club manager Mwangi "Don King" Muthoga leads the fight for the club, which has always been a refuge for the youth in the neighborhood for whom boxing is a lifeline from a life of crime, drugs and alcohol.

Docubox also encourages new forms of ownership and authorship in East Africa, "because we believe that true stories well told, make the world a better place to live."
