Kalonzo Musyoka's Wiper party plans to clinch seven parliamentary and 24 ward seats at the Nairobi City county during the 2017 general elections.

The party has mapped out its strongholds in Nairobi where it seeks to capture elective seats.

However, most of elective seats in such zones are held by their ODM counterparts, a situation which is likely to cause political competition.

The plan, dubbed "24/7", is spearheaded by Nairobi deputy governor Jonathan Mueke.

Mueke is Wiper party's senior most politician in the city and coordinates most of the outfit's activities.

The strongholds are in the four Embakasi constituencies (South, East, West and Central).

Embakasi East parliamentary aspirant Fred Musau said 40,000 out of 110,000 registered voters in the constituency are Wiper supporters.

Musau wants to unseat incumbent MP John Omondi of ODM.

Mueke's team wants ODM to support Wiper party's candidates in the selected constituencies.

The deputy governor wants to execute the plan to assert Wiper party's strength in Nairobi as he lays ground for his 2022 governorship bid.

Part of Mueke's game plan involves leading voter registration drives in the targeted areas.

"We have our supporters scattered in many constituencies including Kibra where we are not interested," Musau said.

Other constituencies the Wiper party wants to take are

Makadara, Lang'ata and Mathare.

Word has it that the party will field Joshua Kitivi and nominated senator Judith Sinjeny for the Makadara and Lang'ata parliamentary seats respectively.

Sinjeny will be running against ODM's Joash Olum.

But the party has not settled on a candidate for the Mathare seat held by Stephen Kariuki of ODM.

Roy Kivusyu and Musili Mawathe will be contesting Embakasi West and Embakasi South parliamentary seats respectively.

Wiper also aims at retaining the Mukuru kwa Njenga and Laini Saba MCA seats held by Alexander Mutisya and David Kitavi respectively and get 22 others.

The party wants their ODM counterparts not to field candidates.
