Manyatta MP John Muchiri has accused his rivals of sending drunk youth to disrupt his meetings.

Speaking during a funds drive at Kiriari Catholic Church on Sunday, he said some MP aspirants are buying illicit drinks for jobless youth to heckle him during speeches.

During the function, a drunk man was almost beaten up by residents after he heckled speakers.

Muchiri accused his rivals of being “primitive, backward and illogical”. He said if his critics want to win residents’ votes, they should behave responsibly and not resort to “thuggery”.

The funds drive was meant to help Derrick Mwenda, 13, who needs Sh2 million to have a kidney transplant at the Kenyatta National Hospital.

Mwenda’s mother Hellen Gatwiri has offered to donate her kidney to save the firstborn child.
