Journalist Moses Dola has a case to answer in the murder of his wife Wambui Kabiru in 2011, the High Court ruled on Wednesday.

Justice Roselyne Korir said the prosecution has proven there is sufficient evidence for a full trial against Dola.

Kabiru, who worked for NTV was found dead by neighbours in the couple’s two-bedroom house in Umoja estate, Nairobi, on May 1 that year.

Her body was found carefully tucked in a bed in a locked bedroom in the house.

Dola went into hiding after the killing but surrendered at Naivasha police station two weeks later.

He remained in custody until September 2011 when he was released on a Sh500,00 cash bail.

State counsel Catherine Mwaniki said in March that: “The fact that he went into hiding is a clear indication he knew of the offence he had committed."

Mwaniki said a pathologist who conducted a postmortem on her body confirmed she was hit with a blunt object.

She to be mindful of the fact that Dola left Kabiru alone and unattended, denying her access to medical attention.

The case will be heard on June 29.
