Kisumu youths turned up in large numbers on Monday

for a second round of demonstrations for the IEBC to be disbanded.

The peaceful protest in Kondele is part of a weekly series by the Opposition, for the electoral system to be mended ahead of the August 2017 poll.

Cord leaders, led by chiefs Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka and Moses Wetang'ula, want the IEBC disbanded over claims of rigging elections and frustrating the Okoa Kenya referendum.

The first round of protests in Nairobi turned chaotic after at the leaders and their supporters to prevent them from storming into Anniversary Towers.

Police guarded the building where the IEBC's offices are located.

Officers were deployed on Monday following Interior CS Joseph Nkaissery's warning against activities that threaten peace and stability.

"Unlawful riots over IEBC will be met with the full force of the law. The Opposition must know we have enough teargas to deal with them," said Nkaissery.

He called on the Opposition to in airing grievances concerning the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission, instead of inciting Kenyans.

Ahead of today's protests, ODM leaders to using the Firimbi Movement forcefully removing the commissioners.

The movement was started when in Parliament during President Uhuru Kenyatta’s State of the Nation address in April.

Leaders in the Opposition including Ugunja MP Opiyo Wandayi have been in the forefront of the movement aimed at attaining positive change for the country.
