Four drown due to strong winds in Indian ocean

Four people drowned following strong winds that rocked the Indian Ocean on Monday.

Three drowned at Shelly beach Likoni and while one perished after their boat capsized in Lamu.

A body was found at Shelly beach area at the shore of the ocean while another of a 22 year-old male was found without physical injuries.

The body was taken to Coast General hospital mortuary for postmortem.

A search for the body of the occupant of the boat that capsized in Lamu Island at Kengen area was launched.

Likoni OCPD Willy Simba warned residents to be cautious further urging them to avoid venturing into deep sea.

"We urge people to take extra care when swimming because of the big waves at the Indian ocean," he said.
