" This is not a national responsibility. It is not even a regional responsibility but a global one," Amina said.

Her remarks comes a day after the government said it will soon camps on grounds that they habour terrorists.

The government also disbanded the department of refugees.

" That department alone costs the Kenyan tax payer a lot of money per year. The money is solely sourced by the government," Amina added.

Data from the United Nations Human Commissioner for Refugees shows that both camps put together accommodate close to 400,000 people.

Daadab alone has about 340,000 refugees while Kakuma has more than 55,000.

Amina further stated that the government had agreed with the UN refugee agency and Somalia to end the repatriation of all refugees from Somali by September this year.
