A 38 year-old electrician was on Thursday taken to court for urinating on the family's food as it was being cooked.

Kelvin Thuku was accused by his wife Alice Muthukia for committing the act on April 30 within Baraka area.

The court was told that Thuku caused disturbance to the family after he insulted his wife by calling her a witch.

He was also accused of threatening to kill their children and urinating on the complainant's bed on the same day.

According to court documents, the complainant was playing with their kids in the bedroom when she heard noises from the sitting room.

Upon checking, she found Thuku who would later dash to the bedroom where he allegedly urinated on their bed claiming that the action was meant to counter his wife's dark ways.

When he left the bedroom, the accused is said to have rushed to the next room where he urinated on food being prepared for the family.

Thuku, according to police, also threatened to kill their children - twins- before Muthukia called for help from neighbours who intervened.

He was escorted to the nearest police station and put in cells.

The accused denied the charges before senior resident magistrate Steve Jalango and was released on a cash bail of Sh10,000.

The case will be heard on August 30.
