Conjoined twins born at the Coast General Hospital, Mombasa on Thursday died on Sunday morning.

The two babies, Briton and Brian were due to be flown to Kenyatta National Hospital for specialised treatment.

Their Mother Eunice Auma and father Fredlick Odhiambo told The Star that the doctors did their best but the situation could not be controlled.

"All the plans are underway and they will be laid to rest at Bombolulu cemetery, have no one to blame", Auma said.

They died at the ICU despite efforts to resuscitate them.

Coast general

chief administrator Doctor Iqbal Khandwalla said that all the machineries were in place including specialized anesthetists but they passed on at about 12.30am while at ICU.

“Handling such cases is a delicate procedure, they shared major blood vessels and the liver", Khandwalla said.

The children were conjoined from the chest downwards.
