Police arrest one gang member involved in Kitengela hotelier’s murder

Kajiado police have arrested a gang member linked to the murder of a hotelier in Kitengela three weeks ago. County commissioner Harsama Kello yesterday said: “We have embarked on a serious mission to deal with the Kitengela problem. Yesterday [Thursday], we arrested one of the criminals who shot and killed Charles.”

On April 5, armed gangsters shot dead hotelier Charles Obiri and robbed his wife Eunice of Sh5,000 at their New Vally Estate home. Witnesses said a motorist in a white pickup dropped seven men at the estate at 9.30pm and half an hour later, gunshots were heard. Isinya police boss Stephen Weda told the Star Obiri was shot in the head, arm and chest as he tried to escape.

The gang proceeded to Police Sacco Estate and robbed a man of Sh20,000, he said.
