Teso North leaders in Busia assured Governor Sospeter Ojaamong of their full support for his re-election. In what they called “Kakemer Declaration”, they said they will mobilise the electorate.

The leaders included Busia woman representative Florence Mutua, parliamentary aspirants Fred Papa and Shem Papa, Vihiga executive Nixon Amendi, MCAs Moses Mamai and Maurice Chetambe, and Teso North elder Nicodemus Osukuku. Mutua asked the Teso community to jealously guard the governor’s office, saying Ojaamong has steered the county to greater heights.

“We are ready to re-elect you for the good work you are doing as the county chief executive officer. The Ward Development Fund is proof of your able leadership,” Chetambe, the Angurai North MCA said. Mamai asked the community not to split their votes while Fred, Teso North Chamber of Commerce chairman, assured Ojaamong that Teso North will deliver more votes than Teso South. Shem Papa also known as Pepe told Teso North residents to allow the governor to complete two terms before he (Pepe) runs for the seat in 2022. Osukuku, (NOP) said Teso North is behind Ojaamong.
