The National Drought Management Authority has launched a programme to manage drought in West Pokot county.

Speaking during the launch of the programme in Kapenguria, official Sayena Lembare said pastoralist communities are the most affected by drought and stakeholders should pull resources together to contain the situation.

He urged pastoral communities to reduce the number of animals they rear to reduce soil erosion.
