Standard Chartered chief executive officer Lamin Manjang has clarified that they are yet to disburse prize money for the 2015 edition of the Standard Chartered Nairobi Marathon.

His sentiments comes after claims that some participants had already been paid.

“We would like to inform all athletes, who took part in the 42km and 21km races that we haven’t disbursed any money yet. In line with IAAF regulations, the prize money will only be paid out after doping results are released by Athletics Kenya,” observed the official yesterday at press conference.

He continued, “We would like to assure the affected athletes that upon receipt of the official results, we shall release the money to them directly.”

He said they would like to do things the right way considering the 2015 race was marred by cheating.

Manjang said they have been in constant communication with AK and expressed their concern over the delay.
