Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka has said he is confident he will be Cord's flag bearer in the 2017 race for president.
Kalonzo asked his supporters to have "faith and confidence" that coalition partners Raila Odinga and Moses Wetang'ula will allow him to deliver victory.
"Believe that you will succeed and that there will be no hindrance. In the name of God, nothing will come up. This will definitely happen," he said.
He addressed the view that a Kalonzo presidency is inevitable during the burial of Minority leader Francis Nyenze's mother,
Ruth Mawia,
in Katheka, Kitui county, on Saturday.
Among leaders who said the Wiper leader is likely to win the top seat were Governor Julius Malombe, Kitui Senator David Musila and Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama
An MOU signed by the Cord coalition
stated that the Wiper leader will be the flag bearer in 2017.

said Kalonzo, Raila and Wetang'ula (Bungoma Senator)
have the same stake in the coalition.
"None of them is on invitation but an equal partner with the same chances for the Cord ticket," he said.
"I know there was an MOU and I was part and parcel of it, and we know very well that what people are saying is true. We are looking forward to seeing Kalonzo as our flag bearer,” Wamalwa said.
He said the three coalition partners will remain together until 2017, adding "eventually the coalition
will ascend to power".
"Kalonzo, continue extending your love to Wetang' ula and Raila,” he said.
