Kuppet secretary general Akello Misori has accused the national government of failing to improve infrastructure in schools.

Schools lack "adequate facilities that can ensure students learn in a conducive environment,” he said.

Misori urged alumni to get more involved in developing their former schools "because the government may not do enough to achieve this”.

He said education has taken a nose dive countrywide due to numerous challenges.

Misori spoke during the launch of the Wangapala Old Boys Association in Kisumu on Sunday.

Businessman Sam Wakiaga said most schools in Nyanza do not have strong alumni organisations that can help spur growth.

He said the associations should play a key role by contributing funds to the schools.
