Police are looking into a human trafficking syndicate following the arrest of 13 Ethiopian immigrants at the Kenya-Tanzania border.
The group was arrested in Lunga Lunga, Kwale county,
on Sunday night.
Msabweni police boss Joseph Omijah said the syndicate in question smuggles foreigners to South Africa through the Indian Ocean.
Twenty three Ethiopian immigrants were arrested on March 9 after they were
in Kahawa West, Nairobi.
Police rescued them from a mob that wanted to lynch them over the killing of a boda boda rider, said Kiambu deputy OCPD Robinson Lyambila.
The police boss said it is believed the immigrants were on their way to South Africa but that their intentions could not be established immediately as they do not speak English.
