A former Embakasi West parliamentary aspirant was charged in a Kibera court yesterday with stealing and illegally having a gun.

John Omolle allegedly stole two handbags with Sh70,000 from Amina Milla.

He allegedly stole them at Magarbi plaza in T-Mall, Lang’ata, on February 20.

The prosecution separately accused him of forging a firearm certificate and claiming it was legal on February 24 at Nyayo estate, Embakasi, Nairobi county.

Resident magistrate Jane Kamau heard that Omolle called as an MCA to Langata police boss Fatuma Abdi to evade arrest.

Omolle denied all the charges and was released on Sh500,000 bond.

He asked the court to consolidate the two files.

However, prosecutor Charles Mogaka said the offences took place on different dates and places.

Both cases will be mentioned on March 11.
