Josephine Kabura did not appear at the EACC over the Sh791 million NYS scam, her lawyer saying she was sick and had requested more time.

Kabura, who missed the appearance on Thursday, skipped court on Tuesday when the case was to be mentioned.

The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission accepted her request but asked her not to fail to report next Tuesday.

Kabura, a key suspect in the scandal, on Monday filed a damning affidavit claiming former Devolution CS Anne Waiguru was the architect of the scandal.

She owns four companies implicated in the scandal.

Waiguru will next week be investigated by the EACC which into the scam following Kabura’s affidavit.

Kabura described her alleged relationship with Waiguru in the affidavit but the former CS

dismissed her as a “crazy woman” whom she came to know about only after the scandal broke.

Kabura says that, prior to the Sh791 million contract, Waiguru had assisted her to “secure other contracts, with about 30 LPOs for my other companies, at NYS, with a value in excess of Sh400 million”
