The Jubilee administration lacks vision and focus for the electorate, Cord co-principal Moses Wetang’ula has said.

"We are less than one year to the 2017 general elections but the Jubilee government has failed to fulfill its 2013 general election pledges," Wetang’ula said.

He said President Uhuru Kenyatta lacks an agenda and is instead gambling with the electorate’s lives.

Speaking to the Star on phone, Wetangula said their journey to State House in the 2017 general election has commenced with the Malindi by election.

Wetang’ula urged youth and women to make use of the registration of voters to beat Jubilee Party and dismissed claims that JP has the tyranny of numbers.

"The days for the Jubilee Party are numbered as President Uhuru Kenyatta will lose in the 2017 polls," he said.

He called on the public to vote in leaders with a political stand and oust rebel Cord MPs come the general election.

Wetang’ula criticised the government's handling of appointments to key state corporations, including the recent selection of retired Permanent Secretary Ethan Ndubai to the helm of NYS, arguing they are setting a bad precedent.

“The appointment of the NYS boss has taken an ethnic line yet the country has energetic and qualified people for the job,” he said.
