The reigning world indoor and Commonwealth champion for the 3,000 and 5,000 meters has starred in a catchy tribute song titled Run Caleb Ndiku.

The popular marathoner, Caleb, 23, is featured in Machakos Kyalo's music video where he shows off his various trophies won on the track. He also gets into the hiphop mood and is seen throwing Sh1000 notes at the camera.

Rapper Kyalo who is based in Boston, told Word Is in a phone interview, "When Caleb first heard this song he actually said, 'We are out! This is it. This is a hit.' He just believes in me. The friendship is there. It is a mutual learn and learn. It is a respect of brotherhood."

The 5,000 meters silver medalist at the 2015 Beijing World Athletics Championships, is aiming for gold at the forthcoming Olympic Games.

"Caleb tells me he listens to the song before the race and hey, that is who I made the song for! The song is meant for anyone who just needs to work hard towards something and drown out dissenting voices. Keep working," Kyalo added, "There is this little story he likes to share with me. A lot of people in our village thought Caleb had gone crazy because he was just running and practising. They were saying, 'Caleb has gone mad! or someone has done voodoo on him!' But now, they are the same people asking him to buy them chai."

The music video was shot outside Machakos People's Park at a "perfect little spot".

Caleb endorsed Kyalo as "the best

artiste in Machakos...and the whole of Kenya."
