The Kenya Coast Tourism Association has urged hoteliers to portray Kenya’s true and positive image abroad.

KCTA chairman Mohammed Hersi on Wednesday said there are many misconceptions about Kenya, especially in the Middle East, which need to be changed.

“It is upon us to change that perception. We cannot sit and lament every time. We have to take the initiative,” he said.

Speaking to the Star at the Voyager Beach Resort on Wednesday, Hersi said they have taken measures to correct the misconceptions about Kenya.

He said they have partnered with Voyager Beach Resort and Voyager Ziwani in Tsavo, Rwanda Air and Holiday Factory, the leading tour operator in Dubai.

Holiday Factory has organised a beach and safari package for 10 journalists and bloggers from Lebanon, India, Russia, the United Arab Emirates and Australia, all based in Dubai.

Rwanda Air has flown them to Kenya free of charge for a three-day tour.

During their stay, they will visit the Tsavo East and Tsavo West national parks.
