A Kenya Defence Forces lieutenant who left university after a year and joined the army was buried yesterday.

Martin Nyagah from Kavutiri village in Embu North was killed on January 15 in El Adde, Somalia, when al Shabaab attacked KDF and Amisom camps.

An unconfirmed number of soldiers were massacred.

Nyagah, 24, was studying Education at Kenyatta University in 2011 but his patriotism led him to join the army, the eulogy stated.

He is the son of Julius Njagih and Virginia Wambui.

Speakers at the Anglican Church of Kenya in Kavutiri described Nyagah as very courageous and humble.

They said he always fought for the rights of underprivileged people.
