Two ward representatives were thrown out and sittings adjourned on Tuesday indefinitely during the Embu county assembly opening session.

MCAs rejected a house business committee constituted by majority leader Andrew Musakwa, prompting speaker Justus Mate to adjourn the sittings.

Mate threw out Mbeti South MCA Nyaki Muria, who was elected majority leader last December 7.

He was sitting at the majority leader’s position.

Musakwa said “a stranger is sitting in my position”.

Mate said Muria should move because his election did not follow the right procedure and is illegal.

Runyenjes MCA Steve Munene was also thown out for defending Muria.

Mate was prompted to call for voting and those opposed to the committee outnumbered supporters by 14 to 13.

Three did not vote.
