Mlolongo OCS Wambugu to be buried tomorrow in Nyeri county

Mlolongo OCS chief inspector Moses Wambugu will be buried at his Thegenge home in Nyeri county tomorrow, assistant county commissioner Obed Mose has said. The OCS died in hospital after he was involved in a road accident on February 3 on Mombasa Road. “Wambugu was a dedicated officer. He was committed to serving Mlolongo residents day and night in the one year he served in this police station. He has left a big gap in the police service, which is not easy to fill,” Mose said. He spoke to the Star in his Mlolongo office yesterday. The OCS was on his way from Naivasha when his car landed in a ditch near the General Motors Company Ltd. “I talked to him on his hospital bed a day after the accident. He told me he was trying to avoid hitting a man, when he lost control of the car,” he said. Mose said family, friends, relatives and colleagues are meeting to raise funds to settle the hospital bill and meet burial expenses. He said the body is at the Kenyatta University Funeral Home.
