KENYANS in the diaspora have launched a scathing attack on IEBC for locking them out of the mass voter registration exercise that starts next week.

Through their umbrella body, the Kenya Diaspora Alliance, they said the IEBC is gate-keeping for partisan political interests who fear their numbers might upstage “their predetermined political arithmetic”.

“We want Kenyans to know the conduct of IEBC has continued to elicit disturbing trends. We wonder whether this should be the correct commission to be allowed to superintend credible elections in the already ethnically polarised and toxic country,” KDA said in a statement yesterday.
