Kajiado East MP Peris Tobiko has said she

does not regret saying Mungiki members have bought property and taken over Kitengela, Nairobi.

Tobiko

was quoted as saying

Kajiado woman representative Mary Seneta

gave Mungiki members a "soft landing" in Kitengela.

She said she will neither apologise nor withdraw her statement

claiming Seneta was among people who sold land to Mungiki members.

"Is it not true the leader of Mungiki sect members, Maina Njenga, has bought many parcels of land in Kitengela? Who sold him those parcels?" she posed.

She spoke to The Star on phone on Monday regarding her remarks at a

fundraiser in aid of her support, Mzee William Sironka, at Olturoto Primary School on Saturday.

Tobiko said Seneta

has been making "wild allegations" against her, including claiming she is married in Narok and has no business in Kajiado East.

She had asked at the fundraiser: “Why are they agitated and even claiming I am married in Narok and should pack and leave with my Purko husband?”

Tobiko further claimed at the event that Seneta and other politicians recently had a secret meeting at Selelo Gardens Resort and declared she should be "made to leave" her post.

She also claimed the woman representative and Kenya Meat Commission chairman Tarayia Kores have talking ill about her distribution of bursaries money from the County Development Fund.

In response on Monday, Seneta accused Tobiko of hate speech and said she should be grilled by police and reveal what she knows about Mungiki activities in Kitengela.

"I do not know of any presence of Mungiki members in Kitengela. It will be of great interest for people of Kajiado East constituency to know who their neighbours are," she said.

“People who have bought property in Kajiado have equal rights as those who sold them the property."

Seneta said as a representative of the people in Parliament, she has never viewed residents of the region any differently from the locals.

"People who have bought property in Kajiado have equal rights with those who sold them the property," she said.
