ODM leaders yesterday asked President Uhuru Kenyatta to draw up a working formula with Cord leader Raila Odinga.
They were speaking in Kisumu when Uhuru commissioned the Sh160 million SDA West Kenya Union Conference headquarters.
Kabondo Kasipul MP Sylvance Osele said Uhuru’s father, Mzee Jomo Kenyatta, worked together with Raila’s father, Jaramogi Oginga Odinga, to steer the country forward.
He told the President to also work with Raila to bring about change.
Osele said the unity of the two leaders will bring down political temperatures in the country and improve development.
“You are the best President to bring unity in this country,” he said.
Kisumu West MP Olago Aluoch said politicians must learn from the church and resolve their differences.
Kisumu Central MP Ken Obura said there is need for the country to re-orient its political narrative.
“We must not focus on personalities and ethnic status,” he said.
Uhuru said in politics, there is no enmity. He spoke in Kondele.
Uhuru said differences in ideologies should not be personalised.
