A section of Rift Valley leaders are mooting a new alliance to challenge President Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto’s Jubilee party.

Bomet Governor Isaac Rutto, who has declared he will not join Jubilee, has been joined by other rebels and legislators from other parties.

“We are not going to accept some people to ride on our shoulders anymore. We are tired of being misused by self-centered people,” Emurua Dikirr MP Johana Ng’eno said.

On Friday he said they are in talks with leaders from other parties to form a new political front to challenge Jubilee.

Ng’eno was speaking during the campaigns at Kapkwen in Nyangores ward for Peoples Patriotic Party of Kenya aspirant Andrew Maritim.

He said plans to have the Kenya National Congress, Kanu, PPPK and other parties to join were at an advanced stage.

Ng’eno said Jubilee has sidelined some regions.

“This is why we are saying our journey to form a new party uniting all people has kicked off,” he said.

Ng’eno said they have been supportive and defended the Jubilee government, but their cries have “always been wished away”.

He said they will no longer subscribe to a one-man rule community, where residents are swayed into endorsing a particular leader.

Ng’eno said there are many leaders capable of delivering

He accompanied by Rutto.

“We are relying on this by-election to draw up a political roadmap for 2017,” Rutto said.
