Nearly all primary schools in Laikipia East constituency are ready for the laptop project, with 95 per cent of them connected with electricity, MP Anthony Kimaru has said.

He said only five schools are yet to get electricity.

Kimaru was speaking at Bingwa Primary School on Friday while presenting CDF cheques to bright students for their secondary school education.

The MP is a member of the National

Assembly

Committee on Education.

Kimaru said the remaining schools will be connected with power by March.

He said homes neighbouring the schools have also been connected with electricity.

“More than 30 transformers have been delivered by the national government to connect homes that are far from the local schools,” Kimaru

said.

He said the area CDF has done the wiring.

Kimaru said all bright students from poor families should be educated.

He said every year the CDF office gives sponsorship to 50 students.

Kimaru

said this year 60 students will get full sponsorship for the four years of their secondary school education.
