A Kenya Power employee was charged yesterday with assaulting his neighbour after allegedly being asked why he disconnected electricity to his house.

Edward Esila, 53, is accused of beating up Salune Nashile on January 25 at Saika estate in Nairobi.

The prosecution says Esila called two other Kenya Power employees to disconnect electricity to Nashile’s house.

Nashile had gone to pay electricity bill when the three disconnected power.

Esila denied the charges before Makadara chief magistrate Heston Nyaga and pleaded with court for lenient bond terms.

He was released on Sh10,000 bail.

The case will be heard on July 27.
