A city preacher was yesterday charged with raping a 15-year-old girl.

Jackson Mwangi allegedly raped the girl in Bahati estate, Nairobi, where he used to go and pray for the family.

It is alleged the girl’s mother invited the preacher to pray at their home.

After long prayers, Mwangi

allegedly told the girl’s mother he needed to go and pray on a hill in Limuru and left with the girl.

The preacher tricked the girl into a lodging and raped her twice.

He is said to have returned the girl home two days later.

The girl then told her mother what had happened and she reported the matter to the police.

Mwangi

denied the charges before chief magistrate Heston Nyaga and was released on Sh200,000 bond.

The case will be heard on April 12.
