NEEDS TREATMENT: Lengo Mdzomba displays the armpit with the tumour at Kwale law courts on Monday.

The man who caned Cord leader Raila Odinga and Kwale Governor Salim Mvurya in 2014 says he needs medical care after Haki Africa allegedly abandoned him.

Lengo Mdzomba said the human rights organisation did not honour its promise to pay medical expenses for removal of a tumour in his left armpit.

Addressing journalists in Kwale town on Monday, Mdzomba said the tumour is growing.

“Haki Africa took me to an office in Mombasa where I met someone, but they did not take me to hospital for the treatment,” he said.

Mdzomba came into the lime light in September 2014 when he whipped Raila and Mvurya during a public rally at Kinango.

He was the arrested by police.

A Kwale court withdrew assault charges against Mdzomba after Raila and Mvurya forgave him.

On Monday, Kwale resident magistrate Christine Njagi ordered him to pay Sh5,000 for causing a disturbance.

Haki Africa official Francis Auma yesterday dismissed Mdzomba’s claims.

He said their interest was whether he was mentally fit, not the tumour.
