BOMET Governor Isaac Rutto yesterday escaped a six-month civil jail term for contempt after the Labour Court in Kericho ordered him to appear tomorrow instead.
The governor has had been battling a court case where he had failed to pay 287 sacked county employees in November last year as ordered by the court.
Other respondents are human resource manager Anne Turgut, acting county secretary Kileson Mutai and Moses Rono.
County government legal adviser Andrew Matwere said the governor had not been served summons but would not fail to appear in person in the next court sitting.
Judge Njagi Marete ordered Rutto to appear in court tomorrow or risk six months' civil jail.
