Nandi Governor Cleophas Lagat has told health workers to improve services or move to other counties.

He said the health sector is ailing, despite medical supplies being availed to all 147 health facilities.

Lagat said some health workers are sabotaging the county’s efforts to upgrade services.

Lagat spoke on Monday when he distributed drugs, linen and 1,500 blankets at the Kapsabet County Referral Hospital.

He said he will make impromptu visits to hospitals.

The governor made a surprise visit to the Kapsabet hospital last week and found patients sleeping without blankets.

There was no electricity in one ward.

“We will have no excuse for not serving patients diligently since we have purchased the necessary medical supplies. I urge you to serve residents,” Lagat said.
