Evans Ondieki has sued Governor Evans Kidero and Nairobi county saying his dismissal from the Environment minister post was arbitrary and contrary to the law.

In his application, filed as urged at the Milimani High Court in Nairobi on Monday, Ondieki further said his sacking was instigated by malice and political whims.

He said he was fired for former Devolution Cabinet Secretary Anne Waiguru and Dagoretti South MP Dennis Waweru.

He wants the court to quash his sacking, order the county to rehire him and stop his replacement pending the hearing and determination of his case.

Governor Evans Kidero did not give a reason for on January 26 days after reshuffling his government. He appointed Urban Renewals and Housing CEC Tom Odongo to replace him in acting capacity.

Kidero reshuffled his team in what he said would "ensure efficient service delivery to Nairobi residents".

But Ondieki claimed the Governor "is corrupt and should not be allowed to preside over Nairobi county projects".

"He cannot purport to be sacking people on grounds that he is getting rid of graft in the county," he said.
