COAST political rebel MPs now allied to Jubilee have begun a fresh journey of uniting people who would be working with the government for development.

Eight of the MPs chose Kilifi North MP Gideon Mung’aro as their spokesperson to unite leaders and residents.

The MPs include Kwale woman representative Zainab Chidzuga, Kilifi North MP Mustafa Idd, Lamu East’s Shariff Athman and Lamu West’s Julius Ndegwa.

Others are Lunga Lunga MP Khatib Mwashetani, Magarini’s Harrison Kombe and Peter Shehe of Ganze.

Also present at the declaration of Mung’aro as Coast kingpin in Kijiwetanga, Malindi, was Mombasa businessman Suleiman Shahbal and former Malindi MP Lucas Maitha.

The legislators said it is time the Coast spoke in one voice to push for recognition at the national level.

They resolved to work with the Jubilee government to benefit from development projects.
