A 27 year-old man committed suicide by hanging

in Bungoma

on Sunday

after his wife left with his certificates following a domestic row.

Charles Khaemba and Irene Nasike had been married for two months but disagreed often, relatives said.

Khaemba's brother, James Wakoli, said Nasike's phone remained off after the incident in Mabanga village, Bungoma South.

He told The Star at the couple's home that he got concerned and went to check on his brother when he took too long to start his day.

"We tried to open the door but it was locked from inside. When we broke in we found his body hanging from a rope in the sitting room," he said.

The body was taken to Bungoma County Referral Hospital morgue.
