Lamu Governor Issa Timamy has urged politicians to give elected leaders a chance to deliver.

He said some leaders use social media to mislead Lamu people with cheap politics.

“Lamu county people have been marginalised for decades. It is now time for them to see growth,” he said.

The governor said with the multibillion-shilling Lapsset project, Lamu will soon attract investors.

Timamy oversaw the opening of an ECDE centre at Ndau Island in Lamu East constituency on Friday.

He urged residents with land adjacent to the Lapsset project not to sell it at a throwaway price.

“There is no need of selling land. Nobody should accept to sell land cheaply,” he said,” Timamy said.

The governor was with Lamu East MP Sharif Athman and county executives Mohamed Albeity (ICT) and Amina Rashid (Lands).
