A fire that started in a cubicle razed a dormitory at Nakuru Boys' High School, destroying property of unknown value on Wednesday night.

No injuries were reported as the fire began at 8.30 pm while students attended evening classes, said

District Education Officer Eunice Khaemba.

Khaemba said investigations were underway but that the fire may have resulted from an electrical fault.

"We are glad firefighters arrived on time to put out the fire," she said.

Counselling services and alternative accommodation were provided for the 42 students who stayed in the dormitory.
