Muslims converge in Eldoret for Maulid

Muslim faithful from across the country were in Eldoret for a colourful Maulid Celebration on Sunday.

Milud-un-Nabii (Maulid ) is a celebration of the birth of Prophet Muhammad.

Islamic songs rent the air as thousands of faithful held a procession from Masjid Noor to West Indies in Eldoret Town.

They used the celebration to pay tribute and condole the families of the Kenya Defence Forces soldiers killed by al Shabaab in Somalia on Friday.

In attendance were Council of Imams and Preachers of Kenya Sheikh Abdallah Ateka, East Africa Maulid leader Ustadh Jaffar Swadik and Western Region CIPK chairman Ibrahim Sadala.
