Bodies of four KDF soldiers killed by al Shabaab terrorists in Somalia on Friday arrived in the country on Monday night.

Defence Cabinet Secretary Raychelle Omamo and Chief of Defence Forces General Samson Mwathethe were at Wilson airport

to receive the bodies.

“We have received four bodies of our heroes and the operation is ongoing, we will update Kenyans on any development we have,” Omamo said.

The four bodies were flown in from Wajir aboard a Kenya Airforce plane. More bodies are expected today.

The government has not yet made public the number of those killed in the dawn attack.

So far 20 soldiers rescued from Somalia arrived in Nairobi on Monday.

The Kenya Air Force plane carrying the visibly exhausted soldiers touched down at Wilson Airport at three minutes before noon.

The officers in their uniforms, bore no visible physical injuries, a few limped slightly, some still had their rifles.
