Fifteen people have been charged before a Nairobi court with trying to forcefully seize prime land in Upper Hill.

They denied the charges before senior principal magistrate Joyce Ngandani.

The suspects are George Ngigi, Simon Njoroge, Stephen Mwangi, John Njoroge, Samuel Karanja, John Mburu, Nicholaus Matitu, Erastus Njoroge, Lawrence Maina and John Mirithu.

Others are Paston Kambui, Michael Nganaga, David Kinge, Ernest Muchene and Samuel Njuguna.

They are also charged with threatening to use violence, being armed in public, forcible entry and detention.

They were arrested on Thursday evening.

The prosecution said they violently entered the land belonging to Plover Haunt Ltd, armed with crude weapons to intimidate the directors.

The suspects were each released on Sh20,000 or Sh100,000 bond.

The case will be heard on February 25.
