THANK YOU: Moi University student Violet Mulimba, Governor Sospeter Ojaamong and Deputy Governor Kizito Wangalwa at the county offices yesterday.

A Moi University in Eldoret student has thanked the county government for paying her school fees.

Violet Mulimba is a Bachelor of Arts in Education student.

She sat her KCSE exams three years in succession, from 2012 to 2014.

Mulimba passed but lack of fees forced her to stay at home. The county government paid her fees for the first semester last October.

Mulimba went to Governor Sospeter Ojaamong’s office yesterday in Busia town to thank the officials.

Last year, Deputy Governor Kizito Wangalwa and Education executive Azida Ali travelled to her rural home at Busibi in Butula subcounty to give her the fees.

Ojaamong told Mulimba she would also get the Higher Education Loans Board funds.

She said she has applied for the loan online.

Wangalwa said Mulimba’s case represents what many bright students go through.

“We are happy Violet has returned to say ‘thank you’ for our kind gesture,” he said.
