Busia executives and chief officers should submit monthly reports on their departments’ performance, Governor Sospeter Ojaamong has said.

Speaking to the press on Wednesday after meeting the officials at the Agricultural Training Centre in Busia town, he said the move will improve services.

“I would like to know which projects they intend to do that would be beneficial to wananchi,” he said.

“I also want to know if wananchi were involved in deciding which projects are suitable in their wards.”

Also present were Deputy Governor Kizito Wangalwa and county secretary Nicodemus Mulaku.

Ojaamong said the county will soon identify projects that are crucial and then take loans from banks or grants from NGOs to carry them out.

He said the county has acquired road equipment and is ready to roll out repairs.

The governor said 34 tractors are available to offer better agricultural services.

“The administration has revamped the boda boda industry by transforming them into saccos,” Ojaamong said.
