Elsewhere SportPesa Premier League side Western Stima are in talks with Thika United forward Kennedy Otieno as the Kakamega-based side look to bolster their ranks in preparation for the 2016 season which starts in mid-February.

Western Stima chairman Laban Jobita has confirmed Otieno is one of the players they are targeting having released a number at the end of last season.

He however adds the two parties are locked in a standoff after it emerged the player is still under contract at Thika.

The player spent six months of his time at Thika United in 2015 on loan at Sony Sugar and reports have it that he is yearning for a move out and Jobita hopes an agreement can be struck.

“We want him for the team in 2016. We had started talks over a deal but we later found out he is still under contract so now we have engaged the club to see if they can release him. We remain hopeful as we feel he can be a key player for us,” Jobita said.
